Anna & Stu - Colwick Hall Hotel

Even though I'm Nottingham based this was my first wedding actually in Nottingham, though I like to travel and visit new places it did make a pleasant change to have the venue only 15 minutes from my house!

I'd known Stu for a couple of years through the climbing scene and when I started my wedding videography career he jumped on the chance to get me booked well in advance. I arrived nice and early in the morning to capture bridal prep. I always make a habit or arriving at the start of bridal prep, to capture great details of the dresses and shoes, and (most importantly!) so I don't miss anything. Though the bride usually gets ready last there was a change of schedule and Anna went in super early, luckily I was there to capture everything. With video it's impossible to 'fake' prep shots so this is why I never place hourly restrictions on my time. The settings of Colwick Hall Hotel made some stunning shots, gorgeous big windows letting in loads of light, and so much space! More than enough for everyone!

The ceremony flew by, along with the group shots, Anna had a great dress which was very conducive to awesome spinning shots. And if Anna was spinning around why shouldn't I!? I grabbed my gimbal and did lots of running.

The speeches were amazing, lots of great personal stories which made excellent highlight film material. It turns out Anna was code named 'Leeds' and the start of their relationship, though I'm not really sure why, it was a hilarious story definitely deserving of some screen time.

After the speeches we had a short couple shoot then off with the first dance and a video diary room. An excellent day by any standards.
