Amanda & Tim's wedding started for me pulling up to the very lovely Wadenhoe House bright and early for bridal prep. The first thing I did was make use of my new macro lens for some really close up detail shots of Amanda's rings and jewelry. My go to scene for these types of shots is a nice windowsill, the sun makes any jewelry light up and sparkle in front of the camera, much nicer than artificial light. The first hurdle of the day, no windowsills in the bridal prep room, not being put off I grabbed a rustic wooden tray and went in search of a windowsill big enough. Luckily I didn't have to go far, the bathroom nextdoor had a huge windowsill flooding with great light, I used the tray to cover up the white tiles and alas, some of my favorite ever detail shots were created!
Moving on from bridal prep there was a quick drive up to the local church, which stood all on it's own at the top of a hill, really, really, beautiful. Setting up for the ceremony was super quick and then I rushed off to capture Amanda's arrival in a horse drawn carriage. The sun shine beamed down throughout the ceremony and lasted right through until everyone left the church, perfect timing. After a little rain it stopped just in time to quieten down for the speeches and make my audio crisp and clean. Editing out rain noise can be quite troublesome.
The speeches went by in a flash, this time split either side of the meal, after a little down time for the guests the family Jazz band started to play (amazing) and myself and the photographer whisked away Tim & Amanda during magic hour to capture some really stunning visuals in the golden evening light. I can't recommend this time of day enough. Wondering around Wadenhoe we found a nice spot in a little forest and a lovely bridge crossing near an old mill, great imagery I chose to open the Highlight film set to Tim's mum's emotional reading from the ceremony earlier in the day. Amanda and Tim's dog, Roley, also played a pivotal role during the day being the ring bearer, deserving as much screen time as possible!
I spend the day working with flawless photography, easily living up to the suggested name. I can't recommend him enough if you're in the market for a great wedding photographer.
